Nina Antze is a botanical artist and quiltmaker living in Sonoma County . She has a degree in Fine Art from San Francisco State University and has a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Gardens. Her quilts have won numerous awards and her botanical paintings have been exhibited in New York and at the Huntington Library.  She is also the developer of PCQuilt, Design Software for Quiltmakers. She works in colored pencil, graphite and watercolor and fabric.

Colored Pencil Drawing Classes 

Colored Pencils are a fun, safe and portable way to express oneself artistically. They are easy for the beginning artist and a meditative change of pace for the painter or graphite artist. We will focus on basics of color theory and color application. Learn to mix and blend colors and use pencils to create tone and hue.  We will cover a variety of techniques including blending, burnishing and impressed line. We will work from a variety of natural objects or from photographs. Learn to draw, trace and transfer drawing while trying out a variety of pencils and papers. A supply list will be provided.

Ongoing One Day Workshops 

 Work on one or more ongoing projects, choosing a natural object or photograph of your own to work from. This might be one large piece or ongoing studies. We will discuss subject matter and composition, make paper choices and work out drawing and transferring options. Each class will provide time for continued drawing, working on color choices and solving color problems.
